New Cheating Scandal Occured |
There are really few concrete details concerning the latest cheating scandal at a Canadian licensed online casinos poker gambling site, but it has been confirmed that the sister-site to Absolute Poker, Ultimate Bet.com is investigating cheating allegations. Absolute Poker was involved in a lengthy and intense investigation after it came to light that and Absolute employee had illegally won more than $800,000 by a glitch in the company’s software. Now Ultimate Bet has confirmed that a player account on the site had abnormally high winning statistics and that the issue is under investigation and has been reported to the licensing authority, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
There really is little specific information at this point beyond assertions from Ultimate online casinos betting site that the issue is under investigation. A spokesperson for the company notes, “The initial findings of our third-party expert confirm that the NioNio account’s winning statistics were indeed abnormal, and we have expanded the investigation to look into whether an unfair advantage existed, how such a scheme might have been perpetrated, and whether additional accounts beyond those of NioNio were involved.” That’s all the information anyone has at this point.
For most online casinos players, there is just no ignoring the fact that this cheating scandal so closely resembles the problems at Absolute Poker that occurred in August of 2007. Although the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) fined Absolute a hefty sum for the cheat, and all of the affected online casinos poker players were compensated, players were still skeptical. Now the Ultimate Bet allegations are bringing up those same issues. Players demand to know how these cheats are happening and why it’s taking internet poker players to even notice that there is a problem. The internet gambling companies do not have mechanisms in place at this point to track if a player is winning a bit too often statistically.
