Slowly but surely the Asian gambling and sportsbetting industry is beginning to grow just as analysts for the online casino gambling industry had predicted. Asian gamblers lately have been keenly open to a whole array of new gambling interests, several months ago reports indicated that poker is becoming quite popular. In consideration of the fact that online casinos are still illegal in the market, the China-facing World Sports Network (WSN) has launched strong efforts in this market – and according to the company, they’re being well-received by the Chinese sports enthusiasts.
WSN China just announced a new appointment to the board that will have many in the online casino gambling industry giving a thumbs-up for support. Mark Blandford is a veteran in the industry and a well-known businessman to boot. His previous and most successful venture was Sportingbet – Blandford founded this hugely popular online sportsbetting site. WSN announced that Blandford is now joining the board of the China-facing WSN site, cn.wsn.com.
In addition to joining the board, Blandford’s company, Valhalla Investments has provided some initial venture funding for the sports site so that the WSN can continue to grow in the market and meet the unique needs of the Asian sports culture. One of the first projects on the docket for the Sports Network is the addition of new sports available to the Chinese site users. Initial information indicates that some of the newly planned projects will be implemented immediately (before the new year), while others will perhaps involve other sectors of the online casino gambling industry and develop throughout 2009.
