Last week, Dublin programming giant CryptoLogic Ltd. announced that it will be joining forces on the Internet-poker front with GTECH Corp. subsidiary Boss Media.
According to the agreement, the two companies will combine their network of licensees into an even larger version of Boss Media’s International Poker Network. The unification is slated for the first quarter of 2009.
The news comes as CryptoLogic announces a shift in its business plan for the coming year. According to a company press release, CryptoLogic is refocusing its strategy from developing new properties to concentrating on already-existent brands. The new cooperation is expected to save the developer $12-15 million per year.
Among the licensees scheduled to join Boss Media’s IPN are InterPoker and ParBet. These companies will continue to utilize CryptoLogic’s back-office services, while enjoying GTECH support and software solutions.
“CryptoLogic’s aggressive action on its new strategy, as witnessed in several recent announcements – and our new agreement with Boss Media, is a major step in our journey back to growth, profitability and returning shareholder value,” said CryptoLogic president and CEO Brian Hadfield. “This partnership provides our poker customers with access to one of the largest poker networks in the world, while helping CryptoLogic reduce costs substantially."
