Poker in The New Year To Begin With Professional Heavyweights |
Poker tournaments are held frequently all across the World. Rarely, though, do poker enthusiasts get to experience the kind of table that will be put together to start the New Year.
Poker After Dark, the popular NBC telecast, will begin their new season shortly after the calendar changes to a new year. The line up that they have put together for the first telecast is one of legend.
On January first, the new season of Poker After Dark will kick off with a $20,000 buy in, winner take all sit and go tournament featuring five of the greatest players in the World, and one wild card entry.
The five professionals that will be appearing in the tournament are, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman, Mike Matusow, and Scotty Nguyen. They are listed in actual seat order.
Sitting in the sixth and final seat is, Ken Light, who gained his seat by winning an online qualifier that was held by NBC. He will be severely over matched at a table of champions, but just being there should be an experience in itself.
The host of the show will be Marianela Pereyra. She began her poker announcing at last years WSOP main event, which was shown on pay per view by ESPN. She has several high profile shows to her credit, including covering the Grammys for Access Hollywood.
The week of December 31st through January 4th is when the new season will begin. NBC puts the show on late night, so poker fans will have to take afternoon naps to ensure they will not miss the fireworks and legendary poker that this dream table could provide. |
