Internet Gambling Software Developers Lead the Way

Gambling at safe and fair online casinos always begins with the software platform. And while internet betting sites' accreditations should not end here, there are a handful of online casino software developers whose reputation alone gives licensees immediate reputability in the gaming world.

The pioneering software platforms - Cryptologic, Microgaming and Playtech - are the first that come to mind in this regard. Often seen in the news and on the minds of savvy investors, these companies are now global entities tapping into unchartered online gambling sectors. And while a gambler in the U.S. could care less if a mobile software platform is being newly offered in Holland, it's good to know if that same software platform is powering one's online casino of choice.

The reason being is that the larger and more successful software developers become, the stronger the foundation of the online gambling industry. It's no exaggeration to say the entire gaming industry is literally built upon the software companies.

As mentioned, one such software giant is Cryptologic. Powering one of the most popular UK online casinos of today, Inter Casino, Cryptologic has been making some serious headway in Asia ever since trouble started brewing in the U.S. facing online gambling industry (Cryptologic dropped out of the U.S. market, but you can certainly bet they will jump right back in when regulation is inevitably passed).

Regarding their ventures in Asia, Cryptologic recently has taken a "minority interest" in the mobile and PC game developer, Mobilebus. The two companies have agreed to develop a new line of games together, including casual game portals aimed for the South Korean market, who apparently has a mobile online card games market worth over $1 billion. Based on traditional Asian gaming practices, Cryptologic will launch several new card, arcade and poker games in South Korea, after which they will consider staking a majority ownership in Mobilebus.

With Japan and Taiwan both looking favorably to regulate online gambling, Cryptologic could very well find themselves driving the Asian mobile betting market. And that's a good thing. If anybody should be leading the way in mobile gaming security, it should be Cryptologic. For more information, please read our Cryptologic Software Review.
