|
The annual Irish Poker Open hosted by land and online casino gambling and betting group Paddy Power announced a winner now that the event has come to a close. Neil Channing – given the nickname “Bad Beat” took home the top prize in this year’s open. The Irish Open has become one of the larger of the land competitions, drawing in professional land and online casinos players from all over the world. This year the Irish Open even featured a Irish Ladies Poker Open as a way to make poker more inclusive.
This year’s Irish Open featured one of the largest prize-pools to-date for this event, more than Euro 3 million. That means that Channing, as the Irish Open Champion took home Euro 801,400. The list of players at the final table of the Open read like a who’s-who list of top land and online casino poker playing professionals – stiff competition for even Channing who confidently and quickly dispatched the remaining players.
As land and online casinos poker gambling becomes more popular all over the world, prestigious annual tournaments are also beginning to really become a staple in the industry. The internet gambling industry has just in the past two years really begun to offer highly competitive wholly online competitions with multi-million dollar prize pools. As for the Irish Open though, all of the pros competed, from David Ulliott to Ciaran O’Leary and Doyle Brunson, but in the end only won player can win, and I this case it was Channing, an English bloke from Sunderland, England.
